- Ensure financial reports and accounting records are prepared and maintained in accordance with Financial Report Standards of Malaysia, other local statutory requirements and within Sime Group Policies and Procedures.
- Analyze Monthly Financial Reports (MFR) for Head Office accounts and subsidiary companies
- Analyze Consolidated MFR and Quarterly reports using BPC.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness submission of the monthly and quarterly financial reports
- Analyze Monthly Operations Report (MOR) slides prepared for Board & Group
- Review preparation of the Group Financial Accounts (GFA) and ensure the completeness and accuracy of all financial information presented in the GFA.
- Review consolidated Budget for Motors Division, Management Plan
- Review statutory accounts for individual entity and preparation of the consolidated Motors accounts.
- Review presentation slides to SDB Board and Management Committee and other ad hoc analysis as requested by the management.
- Review departmental overhead analysis.
- Identification and implementation of process improvements and new tools/processes/systems for ongoing efficiency improvements related to all Finance/Accounting business processes.
- Manage, monitor and ensure timely collection of receivables. Ensure payments to dealers, suppliers and staff are made on a timely basis.
- Liasing with external auditors on all journals posted at consol level.
- Coordinate and liasing with Insurance Broker on insurance matters.
- Attend to queries and requests from Group Accounts, Group Strategy, Operating units, Group Corporate
- Assurance Department and other departments.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience in Accounts department
- Professional Accounting qualification (ICAEW, ACCA, CPA Australia/NZ) added advantage
- Prior experiences in accounts/finance consolidation an added advantage
- Working knowledge in the following areas:
o Computerized accounting systems - SAP, GDMS and BPC
o Microsoft 365 - Excel, Word, PowerPoints, Outlook, Teams, etc
- Good interpersonal skills
- Able to multi-task and work under pressure in a dynamic working environment
