Responsible to support in ensuring the overall risk governance and compliance of the office's operations in adhering to the industry best practices and guidelines. Support underwriting and claims adjudication processes in accordance with the guidelines.
  • Work closely with relevant business functions and stakeholders on various risk governance, compliance and corporate secretariat matters.
  • Assist in developing, updating and maintaining the relevant regulatory related policies, standards, relevant rules and operational manuals including those set by the Labuan Financial Services Authority (LFSA), together with the Great Eastern Risk and Compliance functions.
  • Assist in day-to-day documentation, reporting and submission for the relevant internal and external stakeholders including the management and Board committee.
  • Assist to perform routine assignments and periodical review in accordance with the existing methodology or procedures for governance related matters.
  • Support in monitoring and mitigating the operational risk, prepare reports and assist in resolving issues and escalate issues to management/ stakeholders as needed.
  • Liaison with local regulators or law enforcement agencies on regulatory requests including ad hoc/ periodic screening requests.
  • Support and assist on prudent underwriting of new business, existing policies and reinstatement of lapsed policies within the set timeframe and approval limits, together with the Great Eastern Operations functions.
  • Handle enquiries and complaints promptly from clients and claimants and liaise with Great Eastern Operations and Finance functions for claims related aspects.
  • Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
  • Highlight any potential concerns/ risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
We are looking for people with
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting/ Finance, Law, or a related field.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. 1-2 years of relevant experience in risk management, compliance, audit and/ or Anti-Money Laundering/ Compliance will be an added advantage.
  • Relevant certifications in risk management, internal audit, compliance and company secretariat are advantageous.
  • Ethical and professional, with high degree of integrity.
