Responsibilities JOB DESCRIPTION To establish a controlled fiber optic cable assembly process and release formal documentation in the system. Provide design, commissioning and integration of requirement to module test specifications. Telecommunications cabling knowledge is essential including looming of cable and patch panel terminations and testing. Fiber Installation (Preparation, handling hygiene & termination of Ribbon & Multi-core fiber). OTDR, power meter & light source fiber optic commissioning experience, fault finding, and rectification works. In-depth knowledge in ferrule end-face geometry (Interferometry) measurement and interpretation of data. Will be fully conversant across all areas of communication cabling including (Category)Cat 5, Cat 6, fiber optics, multi-pair voice cabling. Knowledgeable in Optical Fiber Fusion Splicing and integration training to workforce including both Ribbon & Multi-core fiber & single mode fiber. Scope of work preparation, material ordering and reconciliation with production method. Testing and troubleshooting using the appropriate equipment the correct cables and devices installation, repairing and solving any technical issues. Sound understanding of Work Health & Safety requirements including Work Instructions, Safe Work Method Statement & Risk Assessments. Must be competent in the use of fiber and copper test equipment will be highly regarded, a demonstration of these competencies is required. Responsible in installing, upgrading, commissioning and decommissioning of assembly and test equipment/machines in production area. Facilitate in-house training and briefing to newly hired engineers, support teams and operators to be familiarized in fiber optic basics & applications in the factory. Requirements Bachelor of Science/ Engineering in Electrical/ Electronics & Communications/ Mechanical More than 5 years working experience in Fiber splicing, fiber optic termination process & test, troubleshooting & team management on assembly process. At least 1yr of Equipment Maintenance/Test engineering, testing methodologies & documentation. With good computer literacy, good communication skill and reporting of information/data. Strong interest in computer hardware engineering.
