Junior Food Scientist (R&D Application Lab Executive)

• Manage the flavour collections and accumulate knowledge of raw materials, ingredients, olfactory families specific to odor and sensory evaluation.
• Development of new product applications and concepts in accordance with specified requirements as outlined by customers.
• Work with flavourist, sales, marketing and laboratory teams to make sure that the right flavours are selected and created for customers.
• Responsible for the product application of flavours into trial food products.
• Keeping up-to date with flavour trends and being able to effectively communicate about profiles.
• Evaluate new creations and products already on the market by smelling, tasting and describing the products.
• To be the intermediary between creation and marketing by managing projects and client briefs.
• Understanding the client's brief and translate it to the flavourist: present client expectations and reinterpreting them to be the most relevant.
• To assist sales manager to visit customers for technical support.

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering / Chemistry / Food Science / Food Technology or equivalent.
• At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Experience from food ingredients/flavours company would be an added advantage.
• Good olfactive/sensory skills.
• Required skill(s): MS Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
• Possess good analytical troubleshooting & problem-solving skills.
• A team player with good analytical, problem-solving skills and ability to take initiatives and effectively work to project timelines.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficient in Mandarin would be an added advantage.
