As they embark on significant new road development projects in the Sibu and Kuching regions, they are looking for a high-caliber professional to anchor their financial management team in East Malaysia.Job SummaryAs the Accounts and Finance Manager (Kuching Branch), you will be responsible for the full spectrum of financial management and project accounting for the regional office. You will play a pivotal role in managing the financial health of newly awarded infrastructure projects, ensuring strict compliance with Malaysian reporting standards and supporting the Group’s strategic expansion in Sarawak.Job ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Compliance: Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring full adherence to MFRS, the Companies Act 2016, and Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements.Project Accounting & Cost Control: Monitor project costing, Work-in-Progress (WIP), and revenue recognition utilizing the Percentage of Completion (POC) method for multi-million ringgit infrastructure works.Operational Oversight: Review subcontractor claims, progress billings, and cost allocations while performing rigorous margin analysis and cost coding.Treasury & Banking: Manage regional cash flow positions, funding requirements, and banking facilities, including the administration of performance bonds and bank guarantees.Audit & Tax Management: Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, tax agents, and LHDN; oversee corporate tax planning, deferred tax computations, and SST compliance.Budgeting & Strategic Planning: Drive the annual budgeting exercise and provide accurate financial forecasts and variance analysis to assist senior management in decision-making.Governance & Risk: Strengthen internal controls and risk management frameworks to ensure alignment with corporate governance policies.Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinate with company secretaries, bankers, and regulatory authorities to ensure seamless regional operations.Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to financial workflows and ERP systems to increase efficiency in project reporting.Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the Kuching finance team, ensuring professional growth and high standards of departmental performance.RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. Professional qualification (e.g., MIA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA) is highly preferred.Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial capacity specifically within the construction or infrastructure industry.Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Project Accounting, MFRS, and Bursa Malaysia reporting standards.Competencies: Strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial modeling, and experience managing banking facilities/performance bonds.Soft Skills: Excellent leadership abilities and the communication skills necessary to liaise with external consultants and regulatory bodies.Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Kuching, Sarawak.
