- Review annual safeguarding self-assessments and validate findings through visits, observations, and online review meetings.
- Support schools to address identified areas for improvement, working closely with safeguarding leads, principals, and senior leadership teams.
- Provide guidance to ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant local regulatory frameworks.
- Assist schools during safeguarding crises, emergencies, or critical incidents in partnership with senior organisational leaders.
- Advise on complex child protection cases and support schools with improvement planning.
- Deliver safeguarding and child protection training (including advanced/Level 3 training) to school teams across the region.
- Ensure staff are kept up to date with emerging safeguarding trends, legislation, and best practice.
- Contribute to the development, review, and updating of safeguarding, wellbeing, and child protection policies.
- Support the creation and refresh of training materials and resources.
- Develop and implement a robust safeguarding review and audit process aligned with organisational and local regulatory requirements.
- Conduct safeguarding and wellbeing audits in schools and provide clear, analytical feedback reports.
- Ensure safeguarding processes are fully integrated into broader organisational quality assurance frameworks.
- Monitor, escalate, and track safeguarding concerns in line with policy.
- Review and analyse safeguarding and wellbeing data from schools to identify patterns, trends, and areas for intervention.
- Provide data-informed recommendations that support improvements in safeguarding outcomes.
- Support due diligence processes for potential school acquisitions and guide new schools through onboarding and transition to organisational standards.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with school leaders and relevant external stakeholders.
- Offer constructive challenge and support to ensure continuous improvement in safeguarding practice.
- Promote and share best practice across the region and facilitate professional learning networks.
- Work collaboratively with other functional and regional teams to embed safeguarding and wellbeing across operational and strategic workstreams.
- Extensive experience and deep understanding of safeguarding and child protection in an educational context.
- Ability to interpret and collate local safeguarding regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong analytical skills, with confidence in working with complex datasets.
- Excellent organisational capabilities, able to manage short-term priorities while planning long-term objectives.
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
