- Instigate, plan, and coordinate manufacturing facilities projects supporting wafer fab operations and infrastructure needs.
- Act as project coordinator for renovation, modification, or expansion of buildings, utilities, and services within the wafer fab.
- Assist in major facilities projects through preparation of drawings, specifications, material requests, and work orders.
- Obtain bids, prepare material requests and work orders, and evaluate and recommend contract awards for minor plant facilities projects.
- Plan and develop improvements, shortcuts, or routine deviations to established operations and methods to enhance efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
- Interface with engineering disciplines, purchasing, manufacturing, work order teams, accounting, and external consulting firms.
- Plan and prepare designs, specifications, and cost estimates for internal or contracted renovation, modification, expansion, or installation of minor plant facility and utility projects.
- Provide technical guidance to manufacturing, safety, and maintenance teams on construction and mechanical systems including HVAC, process piping, water, gases, and utilities.
- Utilize digital tools, data analytics, and AI-enabled systems (where applicable) to support predictive maintenance, utilities monitoring, fault detection, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support implementation and adoption of smart facilities technologies, automation, and data-driven decision-making within the wafer fab environment.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local laws, regulations, procedures, and standards/codes including RBA, MS, DOSH, DOE, and internal controls.
- Promote a strong safety, ethics, and compliance culture by encouraging employees and contractors to report violations related to labor, ethics, and EHS.
- Investigate facility issues reported by users, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct engineering surveys and prepare technical reports related to facilities engineering projects.
- Review and evaluate designs prepared by consulting engineers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Facilities Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in a semiconductor manufacturing / wafer fab facilities environment is preferred.
- Exposure to digital, automation, or AI-assisted facilities systems (e.g. predictive maintenance, smart utilities monitoring, data dashboards) is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of engineering methods, practices, and facilities systems.
- Good understanding of government safety rules, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Working knowledge of local and international engineering codes, practices, and specifications.
- Basic to working knowledge of AI concepts, data analytics, and digital tools as applied to facilities engineering (e.g. condition monitoring, anomaly detection, trend analysis).
- Ability to interpret data outputs from AI-enabled or automated systems to support engineering decisions.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prepare complex designs, specifications, contracts, and cost estimates including capital and maintenance expenditures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
