The role focuses on learning and performing routine maintenance under supervision across Mechanical (Static & RE), Instrumentation, Electrical, and basic PLC systems, in line with MTAC and site safety requirements.What you’ll be doingMechanical (Static & Rotating) MaintenanceAssist in routine and corrective maintenance of mechanical and rotating equipment within U‑8600.Support maintenance activities as per SAP, including:Pump/motor bearing greasingLube oil changeFilter and strainer cleaningProduct conveyor systemAssist in troubleshooting and maintenance of systems including:Material handlingSlabbing / moulder unitsGranulator and solid handlingRefrigerant systemsSupport removal of equipment for workshop repair and assist during RE equipment maintenance activities.Electrical Maintenance (LV)Assist in maintenance of low‑voltage electrical equipment within U‑8600.Support isolation (LOTO) of LV motors, heat tracing, etc. under supervision.Assist in basic troubleshooting and replacement of electrical components such as motors, contactors, relays, and control panels.Comply with Competent Electrical Person (CEP) requirements as applicable.Instrumentation & System (PLC) SupportAssist in maintenance and troubleshooting of field instrumentation.Support planned maintenance and safeguarding testing as defined in SAP.Assist in basic system / PLC first‑line checks under supervision.Support maintenance activities on instrumentation related to:Material handlingSlabbing / moulder unitsGranulator and solid handlingRefrigerant systemsAssist in removal of control or on‑off valves for workshop repair.Maintain accurate equipment maintenance records.HSE & ComplianceComply with site HSE rules, Permit to Work (PTW), LOTO, and Life‑Saving Rules.Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety observations.Maintain good housekeeping in work areas.Learning & Skill DevelopmentDevelop multi‑discipline skills in line with MTAC Job Competency Progression (CD&A).Work under guidance of senior technicians and supervisors.Participate in training, assessments, and competency development programs as required.Documentation & SupportProvide feedback on work execution, equipment condition, and maintenance issues.Support work order close‑out and basic documentation updates.Assist during plant shutdowns, campaigns, and major maintenance activities.What you bringQualifications & ExperienceCertificate / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or related discipline.0–3 years experience in plant, maintenance, or industrial environment.Willingness to learn multi‑skilled maintenance in a process plant environment.Key Skills & CompetenciesBasic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation principles.Safety‑focused mindset.Good teamwork and communication skills.Willingness to learn PLC and control system fundamentals.Ability to follow procedures and instructions.Working ConditionsField‑based role within the Solid Wax Plant.May be required to support shift work, shutdowns, or extended hours during critical activities.What we offerYou bring your skills and experience to Shell and in return you work with talented, committed people on one of the most important challenges facing our planet.
