Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer Location: Sabah Employment Type: Full-Time Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, execution, and commissioning of electrical systems for infrastructure and sustainable energy projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on site involvement, and effective leadership in coordinating with stakeholders to ensure projects meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Ensure all electrical design and execution activities comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Implement and enforce safe work practices in line with Occupational Health & Safety requirements. Drive effective implementation of the Anti-Bribery Management System within engineering operations. Lead coordination with consultants, clients, authorities, and internal teams (C&S, M&E, site teams). Review and approve electrical system designs including SLDs, cable schedules, panel layouts, and protection schemes. Conduct and validate engineering studies (load flow, voltage drop, short circuit, relay coordination, harmonics). Provide technical guidance for installation works (LV/HV cabling, grounding, lighting, earthing, control panels, conduits). Participate in site inspections, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues. Monitor site progress, ensuring quality, safety, and resolution of design deviations. Lead testing and commissioning planning; review and approve test protocols (IR, continuity, functional, protection settings). Review and endorse test reports and final as-built documentation. Develop technical specifications, assist in vendor selection, and evaluate engineering quotations. Verify supplier materials and certifications (SIRIM, IEC, TNB compliance). Ensure engineering integrity in material selection and usage. Maintain proper documentation control for designs, method statements, risk assessments, and submissions. Participate in project coordination meetings, reporting on risks, bottlenecks, and mitigation plans. Support resolution of TQs, NCRs, and design conflicts. Mentor and guide junior engineers and site teams. Be available for relocation during key project phases (commissioning, testing, troubleshooting). Support project documentation filing and archiving. Liaise with procurement, contracts, and QA/QC teams as needed. Provide technical input for procurement and subcontractor evaluations when required. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. 7-10 years' experience in electrical engineering, including 3-5 years in a senior/lead capacity. Proven track record in MV/LV electrical installations, substation equipment, protection systems, and energy efficiency solutions. Proficient in AutoCAD, ETAP, PVSyst, or equivalent electrical software. Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, TNB, and other relevant electrical codes. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred. Certification in Renewable Energy or GCPV is an added advantage.
