General Overview Job Title: Lead Engineer, Program / Project Management Functional Area : Engineering (ENG) Career Stream: Engineering Program / Project Management (EPM) Role: Lead Engineer (LEN) Job Code: LEN-ENG-EPM Direct/Indirect Indicator: Indirect Summary The Lead Engineer, Program/Project Management is accountable for planning and directing design engineers and other technical engineers working on specific projects. They manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs. They are responsible for managing large projects with complex scope, multiple streams of work and inter-dependencies. #LI-LX1 Detailed Description Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following: Manage two or more projects of medium complexity (technology, organizationally). Lead cross-functional, global core team(s), kick off programs, establish schedules and drive meetings Present and communicate status to the business leaders and customers. Reviews and interprets customer documentation. Implement change as directed in the product lifecycle process and recommends process improvements Plan the overall program and monitor the progress. Drive the creation, review, approval and update of the Program Plan/WBS including resources. Daily program management throughout the program life Drive the program core team to meet or exceed program objectives (Cost, Quality, Schedule, Features, Fulfillment/Continuity of Supply, Solution delivery across products & service offerings, Customer Specific Needs) Define the program governance (controls) Manage the program's budget. Forecast actuals against plan/quote for income/revenue, cost/labour & expense Manage risks and issues, taking corrective measurements Coordinate the projects and their interdependencies. Manage and utilize resources across projects Align the deliverables (outputs) to the program's 'outcome' with the aid of the business change manager Manage the main program documentation, such as the Program Initiation document Knowledge/Skills/Competencies In-depth Knowledge Required Hardware-Related Expertise: The ICT(Information and Communication Technology) systems product design, including manufacturing and supply chain processes. Business knowledge in manufacturing PCBs, mechanicals, and thermal components (e.g., fans, heatsinks) and PSU. Product pricing, contracts, and negotiations. - Business case and risk management. Software-Related Expertise: Software feasibility studies and requirement acquisition. Software development schedules and release planning. Software scope management and quality assurance processes. Firmware development/testing for computing, networking, and telecom products (e.g., BIOS/BMC/SES/BSP/Linux). Familiar with project management software tools (eg. JIRA/Confluence/JAMA). Program Governance and End-to-End Lifecycle Management: Comprehensive understanding of EVT, DVT, PPVT, PVT phases. Governance across hardware and software lifecycles. Critical path analysis and dependency management Soft Skills Required Strong negotiation and problem resolution skills. Proficiency in database management, MS Office Suite, and MS Project. Leadership and team motivation within tight deadlines. Expertise in risk management and POR (schedule, budget, cost) management. Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills. Ability to manage global teams and work in multicultural environments. Certification in PMI-PMP/PMI-ACP/PMI-PBA/SCRUM Master Certification or equivalent is an advantage. Strong interpersonal skills to manage internal and external stakeholders. Additional Qualifications Experience with process improvement initiatives. Demonstrated ability to work independently in ambiguous environment Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is essential Physical Demands Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. Occasional travel may be required. Typical Experience Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in program or project management in hardware (HW) and software (SW) domains Typical Education A university degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
