Job Purpose To ensure the hospital&aposs electrical systems are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) regulations and hospital standards. The BO Chargeman is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical installations and equipment within the hospital premises. Key Responsibilities Electrical Operations & Maintenance Monitor and maintain all electrical systems, including LV panels, distribution boards, emergency generators, UPS systems, lighting, and other hospital electrical assets. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment to ensure uninterrupted operations. Attend to electrical breakdowns, carry out troubleshooting, and ensure timely rectification. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) requirements and maintain valid Chargeman BO certification. Keep records and logs of electrical system operations, testing, and maintenance works. Assist in audits, inspections, and ensure electrical systems meet safety and regulatory standards. Safety & Risk Management Ensure safe working practices in all electrical activities and enforce safety standards among maintenance personnel. Monitor and manage the hospital's electrical safety protocols and emergency response procedures. Ensure all electrical installations are properly grounded and protected. Operational Support Supervise and guide junior technicians or contractors working on electrical systems. Provide support during facility upgrades, renovations, or emergency works. Liaise with utility providers (e.g.TNB) and service vendors for maintenance or repair work. Reporting & Documentation Maintain updated documentation on electrical drawings, load calculations, maintenance schedules, and incident reports. Report to the Facility Manager or Engineering Head on electrical system status, issues, and improvements. Qualification Possess valid Chargeman BO Certificate (issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga). Minimum 3-5 years of working experience in building/facility electrical maintenance, preferably in a hospital environment Able to work on shifts, weekends, and respond to emergencies when required Show more Show less
