- Provide advanced technical support (Level 3) on the Database platforms, maintain the operations and management for Oracle (Primary), MS SQL (Primary), MySQL (Secondary) and DB2 (Secondary) databases
- Supervise a diverse team of skilled Database administrator professionals in a fast-paced enterprise environment
- Provide work guidance and mentoring to subordinates and junior resources
- Technical SME assessment, migration or upgrade of Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL and DB2 databases
- Ensure Database administrators adhere to Great Eastern service request, incident, change, release and patch management process
- Ensure Database administrators members attend to major and critical Wintel alerts from Broadcom CA Unified Infrastructure Management monitoring platform
- Ensure day to day operations of Database maintenance, patching, hardening and service requests
- Participate in Priority 1 and 2 Incidents by directing Database administrators to perform recovery of Database related issues
- Participate and oversee Database maintenance, health check and server troubleshooting activities
- Prepare work schedules to include daily support schedules, holiday work schedules, on-call rotations and 24/7 standby support engineer duty roster to ensure adequate coverage at all times
- Prepare Incident Root Cause Analysis report for the Priority 1 and 2 critical incidents relating to Database platform
- Monitor the groups Manage Engine SDP (Service Desk plus) ticket queue to ensure all service request tickets are assigned to Database administrators and resolved within established SLAs
- Ensure proper planning and execution of GE Disaster Recovery support and Database maintenance activities
- Prepare and submit required weekly and monthly reports regarding Oracle Exadata / ExaCC capacity, issues and risks
- Perform annual performance reviews for downline staffs based agreed KPIs
- Attend to regulatory and internal audit requirements (audit artefacts preparation) and work towards remediating audit findings relating to Database platform
- Recommend and propose process improvement to improve team productivity and efficiency
- Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks
- Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company
- Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices

- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or any equivalent qualifications
- At least 7 years of Oracle and Microsoft database administration experience
- Possess Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) preferably
- High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork
- Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
