Position TitleSafety & Health OfficerIndustryHVAC SupplierLocationNilai, Negeri SembilanJob OverviewOur client is looking for a proactive Safety and Health Officer to join our Nilai facility, responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA, ISO, and environmental regulations. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will oversee workplace safety, conduct risk assessments, manage audits, and liaise with government agencies while promoting a strong safety culture across the organization. This permanent executive role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on maintaining a safe, healthy, and efficient working environment.Job Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO 9001/14001/45001 and other safety & environmental standards.
Develop, implement, and review Safety & Health policies, SOPs, and emergency procedures.
Monitor workplace safety and conduct regular site inspections and audits.
Perform risk assessments, hazard identification, and recommend control measures.
Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and prepare reports with corrective actions.
Conduct safety induction, training programs, and emergency drills for staff and contractors.
Promote OSH, ESH, and first-aid awareness across all departments.
Ensure all PPE and emergency equipment (firefighting, first aid kits) are available and in good condition.
Manage scheduled waste, air effluent, water quality, and chemical handling in compliance with DOE standards.
Liaise with government authorities (DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, TNB) on inspections, licensing, and audits.
Verify that all plant machinery, tools, and equipment are safe and properly maintained.
Support continuous improvement initiatives for safety, health, and environmental performance.
Maintain proper documentation of audits, inspections, incident reports, and training records.
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure safe work practices during operations.
Lead monthly safety committee meetings and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

Qualifications & Experiences Needed:

Candidates must possess at least Diploma / Bachelor Degree in Engineering / Mechanical / Electrical / Facilities/ Industrial or equivalent / Bachelor Degree in Occupational, Safety and Health.
At least 2 years of working experience in manufacturing or facilities field with Safety and health working experience.
A certified Safety & Health Officer (by NIOSH or any other certifying body) is an added advantage.
DOE Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM) is an added advantage.
Independent, hardworking, and with self-initiative.
Multi-lingual skills in speaking or writing in Bahasa, and English.
Able to communicate in Mandarin is an advantage.
Computer proficiency: Microsoft, Auto-CAD, or equivalent, PLC programming skills (preferred).
Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
