- Leverage on tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources to support IFRS 17 financial closings, reporting and reconciliations.
- Perform and support the reconciliation of IFRS17 reporting system outputs, ledger postings and related IFRS17 accounts reconciliation.
- Involve in the monthly closing process for insurance/takaful entities in Malaysia and audit related work
- Involve in the analysis of business results and outputs from the IFRS 17 reporting systems
- Develop and implement financial automation processes to improve efficiency in operations and reduce manual tasks.
- Analyze existing financial processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization, and create solutions to address those inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with finance and IT departments to ensure financial automation goals align with overall company objectives and compliance requirements.
- Monitor the performance and accuracy of automated financial systems to ensure data consistency and maintain quality assurance.
- Train and support team members in using financial automation tools and adapting to new technologies and processes.
- Address any issues or bottlenecks in financial automation processes, working to resolve them quickly and effectively.
- Continuously evaluate and refine automated systems and processes to ensure maximum efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
- Support ad-hoc activities
- Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks
- Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company
- Highlight any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices
- Other responsibilities entailed
- Degree or Diploma in Accountancy, Computer Science or equivalent professional qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience
- Good knowledge of local/IFRS reporting standards and experience in the insurance/takaful industry would be an advantage
- A good problem solver and have excellent communication skills
- Able to work independently and under pressure to meet project timelines
- Self-motivated and committed to drive the team towards achieving results
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, meticulous and detailed
- Team player with good communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with programming languages, such as Python or Java, and financial software
- High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork
- Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
