A leader in cutting-edge equipment control systems and automation innovation, specializing in developing high-performance solutions for complex industrial applications, is seeking a talented senior mechanical design engineer to join their team. In this role, you will play a key part in the design, optimization, and lifecycle support of sophisticated automation systems. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams-spanning electrical, software, and systems engineering-to develop mechanical solutions that push the boundaries of industrial performance.Key Responsibilities
- Engage with potential customers to gather requirements and understand new product needs.
- Research current market trends and emerging technologies to propose viable solutions.
- Identify and develop implementable design concepts that align with both customer requests and potential market demand.
- Perform parts selection and validate choices through engineering calculations.
- Develop detailed designs using CAD software based on approved concepts.
- Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on critical components to ensure product durability.
- Liaise with suppliers for sourcing of new components.
- Define necessary functional tests to verify new product motion and performance.
- Establish prototype testing criteria and evaluate test results to identify risks and improvement areas.
- Resolve prototype issues and enhance designs to ensure optimal performance.
- Prepare comprehensive assembly procedures for the production team.
- Define and verify critical assembly dimensions.
- Lead the development of new products from concept through to production.
- Ensure all product designs meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Supervise and guide a team of 2-3 engineers.
- Review engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM) prepared by team members.
- Analyze test results and reports, offering improvements to meet design specifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical product design and development.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; self-motivated with a positive mindset.
- Capable of sound judgment and decision-making responsibilities.
- Experience in team supervision is an added advantage.
- Preferably familiar with AHMS, robotics, or cleanroom environments.
- Solid understanding of product design, data analysis, and reporting standards.
- Knowledge of ISO, SEMI, and other relevant quality management systems.
