Our client is a Japanese company specializing in precision machining and custom manufacturing, focusing on small-lot, high-mix production for specialized industrial components.They are looking for experienced and hands-on Production Manager to play a pioneering role in setting up and leading their new manufacturing plant in Sepang.Responsibilities
- Lead the setup and commissioning of the new manufacturing plant, including layout planning, equipment installation, and workflow design.
- Develop and implement production strategies, SOPs, and KPIs aligned with company's quality and efficiency standards.
- Recruit, train, and manage production staff to build a strong and competent team.
- Oversee daily production operations to ensure smooth output, on-time delivery, and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with Japanese HQ and cross-functional teams (Engineering, QA, Maintenance, Supply Chain) to align on standards and expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing).
- Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Ensure compliance with local safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related fields.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in manufacturing (preferably from high precision/machining industry) , with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
- Prior experience in factory setup/start-up is an added advantage.
- Familiar with Japanese manufacturing culture is a plus.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Proficient in English and Mandarin as need to deal with China counterpart
