Responsible for Underwriting function of the business including all distribution channels and assisting immediate superior in the implementation of the Operations strategy in the area of Underwriting to support the company’s goals.Key responsibilities:Perform prudent underwriting risk assessment on all distribution channels within the stipulated underwriting turnaround time.Approve case that are within the authority limit ensure all underwriting decisions comply with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.Collaborate with the members of field force or other functions and units in GETB on opportunity for improvement on process efficiency and customer experience journey.Achieve the operational / performance goals for the sectionPerform quality check on monthly basis.Assist and response on timely manner on inquiries from another department (eg. Agency Distribution, Partnership, Customer service, etc).Perform UAT and technical support as and when required to support new product launch, Underwriting rules enhancement, ADHOC Projects, etc and ensure sign off within agreed UAT timeline.Review and recommend enhancement or improvements to underwriting procedures and guidelines to ensure that the underwriting process remains effective and aligned with industry standards.Perform ad-hoc duties periodically assigned by supervisor to meet operational and underwriting support.Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.QualificationsFormal degree or Higher. Other professional qualification is an advantage, ie FLMI, AMII TakafulBasic Examination, Retakaful trainingMinimum 2 year of working experience in Family Takaful or Life Underwriting and experience on both underwriting risk and system process are value added.Demonstrates strong communication skills, relationship-building abilities, organizational capabilities, analytical thinking, and a commitment to fostering collaboration.Ability to effectively and independently manage workload while exhibiting good judgementHave high level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.Take initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
