We are seeking a dedicated Lab Assistant to join our brewery team. This role focuses on laboratory operations, testing and documentation to ensure product quality and support ongoing production and R&D activities. It offers a great opportunity for candidates with microbiology experience to grow in the food and beverage industry. Responsibilities and Duties Collect and prepare beer, raw materials, packaging materials and other samples for laboratory testing using aseptic techniques as required for microbiological analysis. Perform routine chemical analyses on beer at different production stages and on other process samples including pH, gravity, alcohol content, dissolved gases and related quality parameters. Conduct microbiological tests such as aseptic plating, membrane filtration and microscopy to ensure products and processes meet safety and quality standards. Assist in yeast management, including propagation, viability checks and aseptic pitching, to ensure stable fermentation. Support production and R&D with material preparation, sensory tests, flavor dosing and laboratory analyses as required. Carry out non-conformance testing on incoming materials, products and processes, including customer complaints, to enable corrective actions. Ensure laboratory cleanliness and organization, manage inventory, support equipment calibration and assist with SOP updates and documentation. Maintain accurate records of laboratory tests and ensure timely report submission to support production and uphold quality standards. Assist with quality checks and record-keeping for incoming materials, production processes, returned goods and stock as required. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Science or a related field. Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience in microbiological analysis, preferably in the food and beverage industry. Strong attention to detail, good documentation skills and ability to follow instructions and SOPs. Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy. Knowledge of laboratory safety, hygiene and standard practices. Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
