With more than 34,000 employees, the company generated sales of CHF 11.76 billion in 2024.Job DescriptionResponsible for supporting top management and Country ESH in driving ESH and security excellence through strategy development, culture building, and implementation of corporate best practices at the Bukit Raja site.The role ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, promotes Behavior Based Safety and Sika minimum standards, and acts as Management Representative to maintain the Sika Management System in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.EHS Strategy and Program Implementation
  • Develop and implement EHS and security strategies aligned with corporate and regional initiatives to ensure compliance with industry standards across the Bukit Raja site.
  • Work closely with Country ESH, QA, and Compliance teams to deploy new programs, best practices, and initiatives across Sika Malaysia sites, ensuring effective communication at all organizational levels.
Policies, Management Systems and Documentation
  • Develop, review, and update EHS policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate periodic reviews of the Sika Management System and ensure proper implementation of standardized procedures in collaboration with the QA department.
  • Ensure that only approved and controlled documents are used across the organization.
Audits, Risk Management and Corrective Actions
  • Coordinate and lead internal and external EHS audits, ensuring timely follow up and closure of non-conformities and audit findings.
  • Conduct regular safety walks, risk assessments, and internal EHS and security audits to identify hazards and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Work with site leadership and cross functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Training and Awareness
  • Develop and deliver EHS and security training programs for employees at all levels, including management, to promote compliance and strengthen the EHS culture
Coordinate training programs related to quality, environmental, safety, and health requirements for relevant staff.Incident Management and Reporting
  • Lead investigations into EHS incidents, accidents, near misses, and other safety related events.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and prepare detailed investigation reports.
  • Ensure timely reporting to management, authorities, and group functions as required, while supporting other Sika Malaysia sites when necessary.
Performance Monitoring and Compliance
  • Monitor EHS performance through corporate or country defined KPIs and metrics.
  • Oversee the reporting system including SpheraCloud and drive corrective actions based on leading and lagging indicators.
Supplier and Contractor Management
  • Collaborate with Procurement to evaluate the EHS performance of suppliers and contractors, ensuring compliance with company standards throughout the supply chain.
Regulatory Compliance and External Liaison
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant EHS laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Liaise with consultants, statutory bodies such as DOE and DOSH, and certification bodies on matters related to Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety compliance
Continuous Improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen EHS, security, and QA processes, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous learning across Sika Malaysia sites.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree/ Post Graduate Diploma/ Professional Degree in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
  • 5 to 7 years’ working experience in a Manufacturing environment in the role of Safety, Health and Environment.
  • Well verse with the following Acts:
  • Occupational Safety & Health Acts
  • Environmental Quality Acts
  • Factories & Machinery Acts
  • In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices, particularly in manufacturing industry.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate, influence, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience developing and delivering EHS training programs.
