The Project Assistant will support the Protected Area Manager by undertaking activities related to the restoration work under the Ulu Muda project. The tasks may include, but are not limited to: a. Assist restoration work which includes: Work with casual workers for restoration work. Engage and review/verify deliverables by the restoration contractors through fieldwork. Conduct follow-up maintenance and monitor plant survival rates. Record field data, maintain planting databases, and prepare progress reports. Contribute ground information for periodic progress reports about the tree survival rate for each maintenance schedule. b. Supports the establishment, operation, and management of nursery to ensure a consistent supply of healthy native seedlings for restoration projects. Works closely with Restoration Officer to maintain nursery productivity and quality standards. Assist in sourcing seeds from approved mother trees, ensuring correct identification, cleaning, and storage. Oversee hardening processes to prepare seedlings/saplings for field planting. Maintain accurate nursery inventory, species records, and growth data. Oversee and coordinate the daily tasks of nursery workers, ensuring work quality, safety and productivity. Contribute information from the nursery for periodic reporting purposes. Specification Diploma and/or BSc (Hons) in Forest Ecology, Botany, Environmental Management, Biodiversity, Conservation, Forestry and/or any related fields.
