- Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans to meet revenue goals and expand market share, particularly for products.
- Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to make sure sales strategies are aligned with overall business goals.
- Monitor trends, review competitor activity, and adapt strategy according to market changes and customer needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, dealers, and retailers (or directly with farmers in some contexts).
- Lead, manage, and motivate a sales team-setting goals, conducting training, and analyzing performance.
- Align team performance with company targets and encourage ongoing professional growth.
- Organize field activities such as demo plots, workshops, or farmer meetings to showcase product usage and benefits.
- Provide agronomic advice on product application, nutrient management, and sustainable practices.
- Track sales metrics, forecasting, and provide insights to inform strategic improvements.
- Report regularly to senior management with actionable data and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards relevant to fertilizer products.
- Diploma/Degre in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business, or related fields.
- 3-5 years (management role) to 8-10 years or more-particularly in fertilizer or agricultural inputs.
- Proven track record achieving targets, managing teams, and developing business.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, analytic, and relationship-building skills.
- Technical or agronomic expertise is a distinct advantage.
- Willingness to travel-including frequent trips to rural or field locations.
