- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent for Painting/Coating/Insulation.
- Minimum 15 years' experience as Coating & Insulation Engineer or Supervisor.
- Minimum 5 years corrosion work experience in coatings.
- Must be certified NACE CIP Level-3 Coating Inspector.
- Preferably certified ICorr Level-2 Insulation Inspector.
- Highly experienced in surface preparation, cleanliness, environmental conditions, test instruments, coating mixtures, and safety concerns.
- Capable of undertaking non-destructive and destructive inspections of liquid and non-liquid coatings applied to any substrate without supervision.
- Skilled and possess technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities to address issues that arise on the job site and can supervise the Certified Coatings Inspectors.
- Supports technical meetings with customers and technical proposals. Assisting proposal team in evaluating technical requirements, identifying exceptions, and preparing cost estimates for customer quotes.
- Provides guidance and training to coating engineers/Inspectors on assigned projects. Provides feedback through coaching and mentoring. Provides administrative and technical support to engineering management.
- Ability to lead technical program presentations internally and for customers.
- Develop discipline procedures, training material, handbooks etc. as and when required.
- Develop guideline ITPs, Check lists, procedures for both Supplier/Site QMS.
- Conduct Supplier Capability assessments.
- Verify contractor quality requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals.
- Supports acceptance testing, qualification testing, and troubleshooting efforts on assigned programs.
- Resolves technical issues as they arise during coating operations with assistance from manufacturer, engineering, and construction team; identifies root causes of the problems using analytical techniques; provides clear and concise corrective action reports.
- Provide technical support to site and project team.
- Coordinate with the customers representative on all quality matters.
- Action and close all customer complaints.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details required.
- Should have experience in oil & gas/petrochemical industry.
- Should have previously worked with major EPC contractor or their subcontractors.
- Having experience in Offshore renewable energy projects is an advantage.
- Ensure weather conditions are acceptable in line with applicable standards/ specifications (Environmental, time and economic constraints).
- Ensure manufacturer's instructions and MSDS are followed while handling & storage of Painting/Coating materials abrasives at site.
- Ensure that data sheets are available, material traceability is maintained and correct material used.
- Monitor performance of contractors, ensure Applicators are competent and where required have valid certification for the process in use, equipment is in serviceable condition.
- Ensure inspection and test equipment is serviceable, with in calibration period and personnel are knowledgeable in its use.
- Ensure weld area is covered before blasting, where pressure testing is not completed.
- Ensure protection of flange serration, instruments etc before blasting.
- Ensure surface preparation blast profile/cleanliness meet requirements.
- Continuous monitoring of surface cleanliness and record surface profile.
- Monitor wet film thickness during application and application technique.
- Monitor dry film thickness and recoating intervals.
- Ensure any identification marks or tags removed or over coated are replaced.
- After the full curing activity conduct visual inspection and specified non-destructive and/or destructive tests.
- Check for any damages and defects upon completion of the each stage of painting/coating works.
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- NACE/ ICorr/ FROSIO Level III Coating Inspector.
- Minimum 15 years' experience as QC Inspector in Welding, Structural, Coating
- Should have experience in oil & gas/ petrochemical industry.
- Should have 5 years of experience in Oil & gas platform or wind energy platform fabrication inspection activities.
