Job description: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Consultant with deep expertise in SQL Server and MongoDB to join our Subang Jaya office. This role focuses on hands-on database administration, troubleshooting, and optimization for high-availability production environments. You will work closely with the Tech Lead DBA to support mission-critical corporate applications and contribute to continuous process improvements and technical excellence. Key Responsibilities Support daily database operations, including tickets, RFCs, and user requests. Perform routine database maintenance and ensure backup and recovery compliance. Administer and manage high-availability Microsoft SQL Server and MongoDB production environments. Participate as a technical resource in IT projects, including database design, implementation, and integration. Automate recurring database tasks and maintain documentation of processes and procedures. Conduct performance tuning and optimization (PTO) using native monitoring tools. Apply best practices in data modeling, integration, and scalability. Analyze and resolve issues independently, providing end-to-end problem resolution. Share knowledge with team members and support cross-team collaboration. Participate in rotational 24/7 on-call duty to ensure system availability. Qualifications 9+ years of proven experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration, design, and implementation. Hands-on experience in MongoDB administration in production environments. Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent. Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid integrations. Knowledge of Windows Server & Red Hat Linux environments, including scripting and virtualization. Experience in automating daily database tasks (maintenance, monitoring, deployments). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to adopt new database tools and solutions. Nice to Have: Experience with PostgreSQL, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), RedGate SQL Tools, SQL Sentry, Avamar, Veeam, Azure Backup, or Cohesity. Background in Big Data, BI reporting, or Data Science projects.
