Featuring 228 impressive and tastefully designed rooms and suites on level 38 and upwards, with amazing view of Kuala Lumpur's iconic skyline from the rooms.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly organized and efficient Chief Steward to join our team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As the leader of our stewarding department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and equipment maintenance to support our food and beverage operations.

Lead and manage the stewarding team, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation
Oversee daily operations of the stewarding department, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality results
Develop and implement cleaning schedules for all kitchen areas, equipment, and dining facilities
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, tableware, and kitchen equipment
Coordinate with other departments to support smooth food and beverage operations
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards
Implement and maintain quality control measures for cleanliness and hygiene
Oversee maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment
Manage department budget and control costs
Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to improve team performance
Collaborate with the culinary team to support efficient kitchen operations
Implement and monitor environmentally friendly practices in the stewarding department

Qualifications

Proven leadership experience in a similar role within the hospitality or food service industry
Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, with a focus on stewarding
Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation standards, including familiarity with local Malaysian regulations
HACCP certification or equivalent food safety qualification
Outstanding organizational and time management skills
Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
Demonstrated experience in team management, including coaching and training
Proficiency in inventory management and budget control
Working knowledge of GHS (Globally Harmonized System) regulations for chemical handling
Competent in using Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software
Problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Experience with sustainability initiatives in food service operations (preferred)
Fluency in English; knowledge of Malay or other local languages is a plus
