We&aposre Hiring: HR Manager (Senior Role) Location: Manipal University College Malaysia (MUCM) Sector: Higher Education Are you an experienced HR leader who can balance hands-on operational execution with strategic thinking Manipal University College Malaysia (MUCM) is seeking a proactive and dynamic HR Manager to join our HR leadership team. This is a critical leadership role for a seasoned HR professional who can work closely with the Head of HR , supporting and driving the full spectrum of HR operations, while also leading key strategic HR initiatives that shape the future of MUCM. Your Key Responsibilities: ???? Operational Leadership You will manage and oversee core HR operations including recruitment, employee relations, payroll, HR compliance, performance documentation, and policy enforcement. This role requires someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and ready to "roll up their sleeves" to resolve daily HR matters swiftly and effectively. ???? Strategic HR Implementation Collaborate with the Head of HR to implement institution-wide HR systems, new policies, and organizational initiatives. You will help align HR strategies with MUCM's long-term vision-particularly during periods of institutional expansion. ???? Talent Development & Succession Planning Design and manage comprehensive training, upskilling, and talent development frameworks. Work with departments to identify high-potential talent and create robust succession plans for key roles. ???? Compensation & Benefits Oversight Develop and maintain competitive compensation structures and benefits programs. Ensure regulatory compliance and administer performance-based rewards and incentives. ???? Performance Management Drive MUCM's performance management cycle, including appraisal processes, feedback systems, and continuous improvement initiatives. What We're Looking For: Minimum 12 years of HR experience , including 5+ years in a managerial role A postgraduate degree in Human Resources or a related field (or equivalent experience) Strong operational HR skills - must be ready to handle day-to-day challenges independently Strategic capability - able to translate institutional priorities into actionable HR initiatives Prior experience in the Higher Education sector is highly advantageous Sound understanding of MMC (FR, APC, TPC) , MOHE (Teaching Permit) , Employment Act 1955 , and PDPA compliance Excellent command of English, strong interpersonal and reporting skills High integrity, maturity, and discretion when handling confidential matters Show more Show less
