The Software Compliance Specialist will be responsible for evaluating, managing, and ensuring compliance with open-source software components within a technology-driven industrial/manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for individuals with a keen interest in technology and a strong understanding of open-source software practices.

Conduct thorough analysis of free and open-source software components used in company products and systems
Ensure compliance with licensing requirements and industry regulations for open-source software
Collaborate with the technology department to integrate open-source solutions effectively
Maintain a database of open-source software usage and associated licenses
Provide guidance and training to internal teams on best practices for open-source software
Monitor emerging trends and updates in the open-source software community
Assist in the development of policies and procedures related to open-source software management
Support audits and reviews of open-source software compliance within the organization

Educational background in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
Solid grasp of open-source technologies and licensing models
Practical experience in programming (.NET, C++, Java) and the capability to adapt or improve open-source utilities
Understanding of security assessment techniques such as SCA, SAST, DAST, and penetration testing
Familiarity with secure software development principles and industry frameworks, including those aligned with NIST
Proficiency in working with vulnerability repositories and scoring mechanisms, including CVE, NVD, and CVSS
